Kramer QuadRod Instructions

APPLICATION: Fits ALL 1999 or newer Kramer Focus guitars. (Note: The QuadRod 422 includes TWO (2) slightly different pickguards to accommodate these Focus guitars. Your Focus guitar will use one or the other. May also fit other “similar” double-cut away instruments however, we make no guarantees.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Installation of the QuadRod requires basic guitar tech knowledge including light soldering capabilities. Kramer and MusicYo assume NO responsibility for any damages caused by or related to a replacement or after-market installation. Like anything, if you don’t feel comfortable performing the task yourself, get a qualified professional to do the work.
STEP 1: Remove strings, existing pickguard assembly, output jack and back-plate from your Focus.
STEP 2: With a soldering iron, remove the pickguard assembly wires from the output jack.
STEP 3: With a soldering iron, remove the ground wire from the back of the volume pot. (Grounded to tremolo claw.)
STEP 4: Solder the GREY wire from the QuadRod to the output jack TIP prong.
STEP 5: Solder the BLACK ground wire from the QuadRod to the output jack SLEEVE prong.
STEP 5: Re-solder the ground wire (from tremolo claw) to the volume pot of the QuadRod.
STEP 6: Re-install pickguard assembly, output jack and back-plate to your Focus.
